Znojmo – CPP 2010

The brief of the Mayor of Znojmo called for improvement of The Znojmo Castle to extend its function of Museum and create a public hub for cultural events and business conferences. Visual improvement of the open spaces should make it also more attractive for tourists.

The aim was to create distinctive character for each part of the site. The entrance area overlooked by UNESCO listed Chapel of St.Katarina preserved its medieval character. Our design emphasize this and there are no features that could disturb views on the Chapel. The ground pattern consist of green and paved islands. More expressive approach had been chosen in yard of Baroque chateau. Waves lead the visitor through the area and create amphitheater seats in the middle of the yard. Fountain and garden pavilion complete symmetrical composition of the chateau elevation.
